Children from 6 years to 12 years can benefit from the martial arts experience with the character and leadership skill developed through the belt ranking process. The martial arts will enable a child to focus and concentrate on achieving worthwhile goals and to meets life’s challenges with total confidence, conquering obstacles with the “Yes, I Can!” attitude. Our students learn to develop self confidence, self discipline and control as they learn how to act and respond to the world around them. The students are taught and treated with respect and are taught to return the same respect to others.
We believe in praise, encouragement, and positive reinforcement. There are incentives for good academic report cards. Students must maintain good academic grades to be promoted to a higher rank. We encourage teachers and parents to communicate difficulties as well as successes. |

"I have been training at the Karate Institute for three years. I wanted to try something new and different. I have developed more self-confidence, enjoy participating on the demonstration team and look forward to testing for my Black Belt this July."

"Karate has taught me to be patient with my learning -- skills come with practice not desire, and not to rush to conclusions. Karate made me enthusiastic about life. When I am bored, I can always go and practice my karate. When I am frustrated, karate helps me work out my negative energy. The friends that I have through karate are good kids as they are taught the same set of values that I have been taught through the martial arts."
-- Tyler Powell, Junior Black Belt Two, 11 years old
